Beginning of 21st saw a rapid modernization and a great change in people’s lifestyle. With increased work load and a greed to earn more money people have started neglecting their health – resulting in an increased out-break of some of the deadly diseases like Swine Flu , Diabetes , Asthma , HIV , Cancers etc.

Obesity is very common now a days among children who spend hours on mobile phones and laptops.

Depression , sadness , stress , mental breakdown , hopelessness , suicidal tendency has increased among the youths.

Unhealthy eating , lack of exercise , bad habits like alcohol , cigarette , tobacco are destroying our society.

5 SIMPLE WAYS OF HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

  1) YOGA

Yoga is a sanskrit word which means UNION – union of one’s mind with the inner soul.

Though it appears to be only physical exercise yet it unfolds the infinite potential of human mind connecting it with its soul.

Yoga has been the core of Indian tradition .

Today yoga is being practiced all over the world.

  • PROMOTE SELF HEALING;
  • RELAXES THE BODY;
  • INCREASE SELF AWARENESS;
  • REDUCE PHYSICAL TENSION AND STRESS;
  • CAN HEAL VARIOUS PROBLEMS LIKE ASTHMA , JOINT PAIN ,  BRONCHITIS etc.

   2) MEDITATION

Another aspect of yoga, meditation helps to relax one’s mind .

In this the subject has to sit and allow his mind to relax without letting any thoughts to disturb the peace state.

Meditation has been proved helpful in resolving problems related to stress anxiety anger tension depression

Meditation may involve closing the eyes and reciting mantra’s particularly the word “OM”.

With the advent of modern civilisation, we all are in a race to earn more and more to fulfil are dreams . In this process we are compromising with our body and one of the major affected aspect of our life is SLEEP.

During sleep body recovers body’s metabolic process, which is essential for a good calm mind.

AVERAGE SLEEP DURATION FOR A TEENAGER IS ABOUT 8-10 HOURS AND FOR AN ADULT IS 7-9 HOURS.

Most important aspect of the good sleep includes resting the mind after a busy schedule.

SLEEP deprivation may lead to Obesity, frustration , anger , depression , heart disease…

It also affects social life for a person shows anger and frustration while talking to others.

With machines taking over all the human job , man has become lazy . It is quiet common to see people sitting in chairs for hours just busy on mobile and phones.

Hardly any time is given to exercise .

At least 30 minutes need to be given everyday to Exercise.

It may include cycling morning walk gymnastic exercise .

Everyone enjoys a bite of burger , pizza , momos , hot dog etc. without realising their side effect and harm on the body. Teenagers seem to have become addictive to eating junk food or also called the fast food.

A balanced diet is important for everyone.

Balanced diet provides us with all the essential vitamins , minerals , carbohydrate , protein etc.

Fruits and vegetables, pulses and cereals, all form the basis of a balanced diet.
